ABOUT THE COURSE

The French Conversation - Advanced course is for those people who have learnt French before and want to revise and broaden their knowledge of the language in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. 

The two hour long weekly sessions address the 3 aspects of mastering the language: reading, writing and speaking.

The reading material varies from light excursions into French literature, to the modern, contemporary idiom of media and internet communication.

Writing addresses the need to keep in touch with grammar – an essential prerequisite to writing correct French.

And finally, speaking – which is given special consideration. Because when you eventually visit a French speaking country, which is in all likelihood the end result of your efforts, you have to not only understand, but be understood by those around you.

The classes are kept small as much as possible to allow individual time to each student.

Bring a pen and a notebook on the first day. We’ll talk about the rest of your requirements for the course in class.

ABOUT JEAN ROCHE

Jean is a native French speaker and has worked as a translator, newsreader and broadcaster for the French services of Radio Australia in Melbourne between 1968 and 1995. Jean has also worked as a bi-lingual journalist for SBS before moving to Sydney in 2001.
