ABOUT THE COURSE

The Painting & Drawing course is designed for beginners and experienced students who would like to continue developing their skills and their own style, in either painting and/or drawing. Covering the essentials through still life, landscape, portraiture and life model.

DRAWING EQUIPMENT:   

Willow Charcoal or pencils (2B-9B)                                    

A rubber and sharpener

An A2 Cartridge pad

2 Bulldog clips

Fixative or Hairspray

STUDENTS WISHING TO PAINT: the above as well as:

A mixture of flat and round top brushes

A palette (Or plastic plate)

Containers for washing brushes (Glass Jar with Lid for Oil Painters)

A Rag

FOR BEGINNERS (NEVER PAINTED BEFORE):                       

One tube of black and one tube of white acrylic paint, either acrylic or oil paint. If you don’t know which you prefer then start with acrylic (many brands available. Matisse recommended but pay for what you can afford).

FOR MORE EXPERIENCED PAINTERS:

Oil or acrylic paints, in or close to the following colours:

Lemon Yellow

Cadmium Yellow Mid

Alizarin Crimson

Cadmium Red

Cobalt Blue

Ultramarine Blue

Titanium White

Mars Black

OIL PAINTERS WILL ALSO REQUIRE ODOURLESS SOLVENT (Not Turps)
