Eve Vonwiller Youth Art Awards 2008
Download Entry Form (ENTRIES CLOSE TUES 9th SEPT) EVE VONWILLER YOUTH ART AWARDS 2008 Centrehouse Community Art Centre, Lane Cove, is now calling for entries to the Eve Vonwiller Youth Art Awards 2008. These Awards have been supporting and recognising the creative talents of 5-17 year olds living on the North Shore since 1995. The Awards are dedicated to the memory of Eve Vonwiller an inspiring and passionate art teacher who taught for many years at Centrehouse and initiated the Youth Art Awards. The Awards are a part of the Lane Cove Cameraygal Festival. Children and teenagers are invited to submit works of painting, drawing, printmaking, photography or sculpture inspired by the theme “People of the World”. The Awards will be judged by renowned local Artist Yve Close and the President of the Lane Cove Art Society, Chrissie Lloyd in three age categrories:
Section One: Lower Primary (Kindy—Year 3) Section Two: Upper Primary (Year 4—Year 6) Section Three: High School (Year 7—Year 12) There are great prize packs of art materials donated by Eckersley’s Art & Craft to be won in each section with an additional $100 gift voucher for the High School section. All are welcome to come and support the creativity of local youth at the opening night and award ceremony on Tuesday 16th September, 5.30pm at the Lane Cove Council building. The Mayor of Lane Cove will be opening the exhibition and our special guests, the Willoughby Girls High School String Ensemble, will be performing. Drinks and nibbles will be provided. Entries close: 9th September 2008. Opening night: 16th September, 5.30pm, Lane Cove Civic Centre, Cove Room.
