Welcome to Centrehouse & Gallery Lane Cove.

We are a Commmunity Art 

and Leisure Centre located in Lane Cove, on Sydney's north shore and have been contracted to manage a brand new art space, called  Gallery Lane Cove.

Centrehouse is a not-for-profit organisation that provides quality learning and creative experiences for adults, children and teenagers of all abilities and backgounds. Providing a personal and relaxed enviornment, we run classes in art, crafts, leisure and languages during the day, evenings, holidays and weekends. We run our 9 week programs (term dates for 2012) , 4 times per year and our kids holiday program.

Centrehouse is committed to the development of culture and creativity in our local community and nationally. We host art exhibitions and awards for students, teachers, local children and emerging artists across Australia. The annual Eve Vonwiller Youth Art Awards is open to artists aged 5-17 years while our Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award (for artists 17-28 years old) is run bi-annually (next in 2011), with prizemoney in excess of $7,000.

CALL FOR EXHIBITION POPOSALS 
GALLERY LANE COVE is an initiative by the Lane Cove Council that aims to stimulate the cultural and creative precinct of Lane Cove, offering artists and community groups’ quality infrastructure to assist and nurture diverse and creative expression through exhibitions, installations, presentations and events. Centrehouse Art Centre has been a key contributor to the cultural fabric of Lane Cove for over 40 years and has been contracted to manage GALLERY LANE COVE.  GALERY LANE COVE is located opposite the busy Lane Cove Plaza and Library, on the top level of 164 Longueville Road. This location offers exposure to high traffic flow and is central to the main shopping and business precinct. This exciting new contemporary art space has been designed by architects DRAW: De Manicour Russell Architecture Workshop and is planned to officially open at the end of February 2012.The gallery will be open for hire to artists, art groups and organisations by application and is ideal for exhibitions and installations of paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and other visual art and crafts.Centrehouse are calling for applications for the 2012/2013 exhibition calendar and will close on 30 March 2012.
